geometry data are stored. If this IC fails or the data have been changed, the TV receiver must be switched on the emergency data set. Service Mode
1. Connect a test pattern to the antenna terminal
2. Tune to this signal
3. Turn the receiver on
4. Connect a jumper wire momentarily between terminals 2 (GND) and 6 (Service) of connector of CN1 on the Video
unit. Note that the wire is used just like a passing contact switch
5. 'SHARP Software Service Ver' will appear on the screen Use the channel up and down buttons to move between the options
Use the volume control buttons to change the data
Use the standby button on the remote control to store the data
Turn the receiver off at the mains to exit the service mode

To change the data press the data buttons
The changes are stored automatically
Turn the set off at the mains to exit the service mode.

Emergency Data
The processor IC850 in this TV receiver is fitted with two memories in which the picture
geometry data are stored. If this IC fails or the data have been changed, the TV receiver must be switched on the emergency data set. Emergency Data Loading the Emergency Data :Press and hold the "P-"button on the local keyboard and switch the TV on with the mains button. In doing so, the data sets for the picture geometry values, the deflection and chrominance data are loaded from the keyboard control unit into the respective modules. Subsequently, call up the Info Center
Menu - Special Functions - Service - Code Number 8500 - Geometry and change the
setting if requested. To store the data Call up "end without mem." and select "End with
mem." using the buttons < or >. Initialisiation of the uP (IC8500) (eg. After changing the uP IC 850) - Connect Pin 1 of the processor to chassis and switch the TV on with the mains switch to load the EEPROM in the processor IC850

How to enter and exit the SERVICE Menu:
Enter the Main Menu
Press the digits 4, 7, 2, and 5, respectively
Press MENU key to exit
There're two selections in the Service Menu: "ADJUST…" and "OPTIONS…" ADJUST Menu: Move the selection bar on the item "ADJUST…" using the P+ or P- keys,
Select the item "ADJUST…" using the < or > keys,
The items below will be displayed (one of them at one time),
1) AGC (Automatic Gain Control) 8) HSH (Horizontal Shift)
2) VA1 (Vertical Amplitude for 4:3, 50Hz) 9) WG (White Point GREEN)
3) VA2 (Vertical Amplitude for 16:9, 50Hz) 10) WR (White Point RED)
