The database library will be extended with an ODBC component, allowing access to the full variety of SQL databases available for Linux, such as msql, MySQL and Postgress.

Also, an object framework to automagically marshall between SQL recordsets and object collections is well underway. With this technology you can combine the best of object oriented programming and SQL database access.
Internet
Phoenix will get an object library to easily interface with the Internet. One key component will allow developers to easily interface with popular web-servers, such as Apache.
Developing web enabled applications will be further simplified by components to interface with SMTP/POP mail servers and components to easily set up UDP or TCP connections across the globe.
XML
The database and internet functionality will be rounded out by components to convert recordset data to XML documents and vice versa. Phoenix will bring you everything you need to link your business with customers and suppliers to reap the benefits of the network economy.
GUI library
The GUI library will be futher extended to bring you all the controls (widets, if you prefer) that you have come to expect.
Currently, the GUI library is based on the Qt library. Soon, we will release a 100% source code compatible Gtk version of our GUI library. Phoenix does not tie your development to KDE or GNOME, but will allow you to target both desktops from the same source and switch between '
